Which stage of burnout are you in?

Burnout does not arrive all at once. It has stages, and the thing that helps at one of them is useless at another. Six questions, about a minute, and you will have a plain name for where you actually are. For reflection, not diagnosis.

Why naming the stage helps

The advice that helps at one stage is useless at another. Told to rest, a woman running hot will book the rest for a quarter from now, and a woman running on fumes will lie awake in it. Naming where you actually are is what makes the next small thing obvious, and small is the only size that gets done in a heavy season. This is a description, not an assessment, and it is worth saying plainly: what it cannot do is tell you whether what you are carrying is burnout, depression, an underactive thyroid, or a season that simply asked too much. A doctor can.

The method behind every line here is the same: grand affirmations bounce off a hard day, while graded, believable ones land. The evidence for that is laid out in do affirmations actually work. If you would rather name the voice than the season, the inner-critic quiz does that, and the affirmation writer will help you build your own line. All free.

Questions about this quiz

Is this a burnout test or a diagnosis?

Neither. It is a reflection tool. Burnout is not something a six-question quiz can diagnose, and the stages here are plain descriptions of how a season is going, not clinical categories. If you are exhausted week after week, or your sleep, your body or your mood have been off for a while, a doctor is the right next step, and going is the capable move.

How does the quiz work?

Six questions, each an ordinary moment: Sunday evening, a free hour, the end of a normal day, someone asking how you are. You tap the answer that is closest to true, and the pattern across your answers points to one of five stages, from running hot through to mending. It takes about a minute.

Is it free, and what happens to my answers?

The quiz is free and your answers never leave your browser. If you want the full reading we ask for an email; that unlocks it here, adds you to the early-access list for the Her Affirmations app, and reserves you a discount code for launch. Unsubscribe anytime.

What is in the full reading?

How this stage usually starts, what it tends to cost you, five lines from our library chosen for that stage, and one line to take to bed tonight. Plus a card you can save or send on. The lines are words for the ordinary hard days. They sit alongside real rest and real support, and they do not replace either.

A line that fits, every morning.
