Who we are
Her Affirmations (Anish Moonka) operates heraffirmations.app and the Her Affirmations app for iOS, available on the App Store. For anything in this policy, write to hello@heraffirmations.app.
The website
Your email
When you sign up for updates, we collect your email address. We use it for one purpose: to send you news about the app and occasional notes about the build. The legal basis for this under the GDPR is your consent, which you give by submitting the form. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
These emails are stored and processed by Brevo (brevo.com), our email provider, acting as a processor on our behalf.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand site traffic in aggregate: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and what devices they use. This involves cookies and similar identifiers set by Google. We do not use analytics data to identify you personally, and we do not run advertising pixels on this site.
Infrastructure
The site is hosted on Vercel, and our domain and DNS are managed through Cloudflare. Like any hosting providers, they process IP addresses and request metadata in server logs as part of serving the site securely.
The app
On-device storage
The app has no account and no sign-in. What it knows about you, your kept and saved affirmations, your streak and day-to-day history, your preferences such as chosen themes and reminder times, and any lines you write yourself, is stored as files on your device, inside the app’s own storage. We don’t run a server that receives or stores this content, so we can’t see it.
If you use iCloud, this data also syncs through your own private iCloud account so it carries over to your other devices. That sync runs on Apple’s iCloud infrastructure, under your Apple ID and Apple’s own privacy and security practices, not ours.
Deleting the app removes what’s stored on that device. Home screen and lock screen widgets show your affirmations by reading this same on-device data, and make no network requests of their own.
Install identifier
When you install the app, it generates a random identifier and stores it on your device. It isn’t built from your name, your Apple ID, or any hardware identifier. It travels only to the two services described below, PostHog and RevenueCat, where it lets us count usage and recognise subscriptions without knowing who you are. If you write to support about a specific problem, you’re welcome to mention it so we can look into your report, but sharing it with us directly is always your choice.
Purchases, through Apple
Subscriptions in the app are sold and processed entirely by Apple through In-App Purchase. We never see or store your card details. Apple’s own Privacy Policy governs the payment information you give them. Prices are shown in the app and billed by Apple to your Apple ID.
Reading voices
One reading voice ships inside the app and plays offline. The others are streamed on demand from our content delivery network at audio.heraffirmations.app (hosted on Cloudflare R2). Playing one of these voices is a standard file download: our CDN provider sees your device’s IP address, the way any server does when you download something over the internet, but the app doesn’t attach your install identifier, your name, or any other identifying information to that request.
Notifications
The app can send you local notifications, a daily reminder at a time you choose, and, if you start a free trial, an optional reminder before it ends. These are scheduled entirely on your device. We don’t run push notification servers, and no notification content passes through us or a third party.
App analytics and crash reports
The app uses PostHog, an analytics service, to understand how its features are used and to receive crash reports so we can fix problems. This means events like “a session was started” or “a purchase completed”, together with technical details such as device model, iOS version, app version, and a random install identifier, are sent to PostHog’s servers in the United States. The legal basis for this under the GDPR is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving a product you have chosen to use. What is never sent: the lines you write, the lines you heart, your name, or anything you read or say in the app. Those stay on your device.
Subscription management
To recognise your subscription reliably across reinstalls and devices, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription management service. RevenueCat receives your purchase receipts from Apple and the same random install identifier, on servers in the United States. It never sees your name, email, or payment details.
No ads
The app carries no advertising. We don’t build advertising profiles from your use of it, and we don’t sell or share app data with data brokers or ad networks.
AstroDidi
AstroDidi, the Hinglish astrology chat on this site, has no account and no sign-in. The birth details you enter (name, date, time and city) are sent to our server only to calculate your kundli and to give the astrologer the placements it needs to answer. We do not keep your name, your date of birth or your birth time.
We do keep the conversation itself: the questions you ask and the answers you receive, along with the chart placements they were based on, your city, your age and whether you had purchased a sawaal pack. We use this only to see which questions people ask and to make the answers better. It is tied to a random id stored in a cookie on your device, not to your name or contact details.
Your purchased sawaal and your free question live in that same signed cookie on your device. If you clear your cookies, that balance is lost and we cannot look it up by name, so please write to us with your payment id if that happens.
What we don’t do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your email with anyone beyond the processors named above.
- We do not run third-party advertising on the site or in the app.
- We never see your payment card details; Apple handles every purchase.
Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and export the personal data we hold about you, to withdraw your consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to correct it. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA, and we will never treat you differently for exercising your rights.
These rights apply to the data described above that we actually hold: your email, site analytics, app analytics and crash reports, and subscription records. Your affirmations themselves, the lines you write and heart, never reach us in the first place; you stay in control of those directly, through the app or by deleting it. To have your analytics and subscription records deleted, email us and we will remove them from PostHog and RevenueCat within 30 days.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@heraffirmations.app. We respond within 30 days.
Retention
We keep your email until you unsubscribe, after which it is deleted from our email provider. Analytics data is retained for 14 months, the standard Google Analytics 4 setting, and then deleted automatically.
On-device app data stays on your device until you delete it or delete the app. If it’s synced through iCloud, your copy there is kept under your own Apple ID and iCloud settings, not by us.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. The app is likewise not directed at children under 13 and is not intended for use by them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it here and revise the effective date. For meaningful changes affecting subscribers, we will tell you by email first.
